Modern Coastal Barn

This was our own design and construct, set over 2 acres.

Having lived on this two-acre property for many years, we knew exactly what made it special—the outlook, the surrounding bushland and the sense of space and privacy. When the opportunity came to develop the site, we wanted to create a home that felt genuinely connected to its setting.

Designed and built by Bakker Homes, the residence takes inspiration from a relaxed contemporary farmhouse style, with soaring pitched ceilings, extensive glazing and skylights bringing natural light deep into the home. Warm timber detailing, natural stone and crisp white finishes create a timeless, understated palette.

Large openings connect the kitchen and living areas to generous outdoor entertaining spaces, allowing the home to transition effortlessly between inside and out.

For us, this project was about using our intimate knowledge of the property to create a home that celebrates the landscape and the way we love to live.
