Mooring 27

Designed and built by Bakker Homes, this striking two-storey residence began with a clear brief: maximise the spectacular northerly water views while creating a home designed for entertaining, with private guest accommodation downstairs and apartment-style living upstairs. Working within a defined budget, Graeme Bakker developed the initial design from the clients’ brief, adapting details throughout the build as the home took shape.

The challenge was balancing an ambitious architectural design, extensive glazing, open living spaces and detailed finishes while maintaining the budget and promised construction timeframe. Close collaboration between builder and clients allowed decisions and refinements to be made on site without compromising the overall vision. The result was a highly detailed contemporary home delivered in just nine months, as promised, with the owners describing the building process as seamless and praising Bakker Homes’ flexibility, attention to detail and practical suggestions throughout construction. This house won our first awards and was featured in Hunter Lifestyle magazine - Sparkling Lines Bayside
